Исторический винзавод будет самомоднейшей студией художников! Posted: 23 May 2011 01:59 AM PDT Beth Weintraub trained to be a print maker, using the etching technique’s on paper by hand and has become a renowned artist in the industry. So it’s no surprise her home and studio would be unique. Down an alley way in the sunny Mission district of San Francisco stood an old 1900 brewery in total need of a full renovation, so she snapped it up back in 2005!
Three years of careful design turns this old historic building into an artist’s paradise! Her design vision was the determination to maintain some original features like the hardwood on the floors and walls that are made of red wood and retain the trap doors that function as a pass through tunnel to hand down the barrels of beer from the top level to be loaded on to the old fashioned horse carts waiting below. A new face lift to fit in with the vibe of Mission! The exterior was very badly damaged after 2 fires, and was totally rundown so the facade had to also have a total renovation. The entrance has a very wide rather grand stairwell that gives you a nostalgic feel as you enter into this unique modern re-planned home spread over 3 levels. Dining retro style! Another main issue with regards to the renovation was to install high efficient components and systems over the build period. A work of art is part of every area! The space also had to provide comfortable living quarters, an office for her business side of things and an area to exhibit her clients work. A proud showcase area to impress clients and visitors! Comfortable minimalism with an industrial touch to the ceiling! A chill out zone with an eclectic mix of items and a splash of color! A clinical approach to business yet softened up by her works on the walls! The light and space here compliments her display area1 The darkwood cabinets contrast great with the lime green paint work! All mod cons and clutter free! A cool slick tub with high tech components! Retaining the original floors proved a great choice! The final result is a 4,500 square meter modern home and art studio surrounded by some of San Francisco’s hot spots to have dinner or hang out and also home to many creative entrepreneurs. Beth’s philosophy is to create individual pieces of art so there are never 2 the same, this has clearly been put into practice here into the design of her home and studio. Beth also rescued the last surviving building in this alley way. Is this genius? or madness? They say genius is bordering in insanity? Via: freshome.com
