The bedroom. It’s not just a place for sleeping. It’s your haven, your meditation room, your escape. But if your bedroom leaves you feeling uninspired, then it’s time for a serious upgrade. Following are some bedroom transformations that make these spaces look as different as night and day:

While Ryan’s bedroom was functional, its colors were way too dark and depressing. But with the help of some friends and a little (VERY little) cash, Ryan turned his bedroom into a modern, organic space that’s both cozy and cool!

Since he only has one window and limited natural light, Ryan decided that his walls needed some serious color. To fix this, Ryan chose the soothing colors of Belvedere Cream and Tate Olive Green which soon turned his “blah” walls into “ahhhhh” walls.

Since Ryan was on a budget and wasn’t able to find linens that he really liked (and could afford), he decided to make like any good do-it-yourselfer, and make his own. Total price for all the fabric: under $20!

Since Ryan doesn’t get a lot of natural light and couldn’t afford expensive lighting fixtures, again he decided to go the do-it-yourself route, and make his own. Purchasing grapevine balls from a Michael’s craft store, Ryan simply put a light bulb through them and hung them with a hemp-covered cord. Voila, instant night stand lights!

When Jessica and Clancy Howard moved into their new home, they were overwhelmed by the size of the A-frame ceilinged, master bedroom. That’s when Janae Branning of MJK Interiors came to the rescue. Janae offered a one-room design package which included a design consultation, a scale floor plan and drawing and color recommendations. In the end, Janae turned Jessica and Clancy’s boring bedroom into a WOW bedroom.
