Как очистить сточные канавы дождя

Posted: 26 May 2011 08:18 AM PDT

Madrid born artist and designer Jamie Hayon is renowned in the industry for the quirky edge to his designs and objects and has just taken Milan by storm with the display of his works at the famous Sapzio Rossana Orlandi design and lifestyle store. His unique design influence came from his love of skateboard and graffiti culture where he began designing skateboard decks with a graphic edge.

Jamie studied industrial design in Paris and his home town of Madrid and later joined Fabrica design academy where he became Oliverio Toscani’s protégée and eventually became the head of the department of design.

Eight years later he decided to go it alone and created stunning collections of ceramics, furniture, designer toys and interior design and installations. He made is big statement at the David Gill gallery in London where he showcased a Mediterranean Digital Baroque and then went on to showcase his ‘Mon Cirque’ in the European cities of Barcelona, Frankfurt, Paris and then onto the city of Kuala Lumper in Malaysia.

Jamie subsequently became a well known designer in decor, and contemporary objects of desire. He has won numerous awards that include Elle Decoration deisgner 2006, ‘Breakthrough Designer’ for Wallpaper Magazine, ‘Best Installation’ for Icon magaazine and in 2008 he became the youngest ever person to be guest of honor at the Belgium Interieur Biennial famous trade show. He continues to bring new design attitude to the industry, see the images for some of his most celebrated works.

He manages to infuse design with art successfully and introduces his playful personality in all his work. The influence of his love of graphic elements remains obvious in his designs making them instantly recognizable as Hayon works.

Spazio Rossana Orlandi showcased Jamies latest creations where you can see he cleverly still manages to inject touches of his existing pieces into new form. He was honored to have a collaboration with Maruwahaya a Japanese design brand on their porcelain range where he continued to respect the skill of Japanese craftsmanship.

It’s clear to see the Japanese influence in this now trademark collection and the enthusiasm he had for celebrating Maruwakaya design principles.

He completed a stunning collection of furniture for British Company London Sé where again you can see his playful personality as he introduced elements of inspiration derived from instruments and insect form. His colorful side tables again appear but in this collection he used bold colors and wood rather than the usual bronze.

For Fritz Hansen Danish designers he designed his latest sofa, aptly named Favn, when translated into English means ‘embrace’ which is exactly what it does as he designed the seating much wider to add luxurious comfort.

Taking the sofa to higher levels of comfort and style!

For a crystal company called Baccaret he designed a range of beautiful lamps he called ‘Candy Lights’. He chose platinum, white and copper on the bases to compliment the cut crystal shades and in order to capture the light and create a warm atmosphere.

Wonderful warm lighting to add ambiance to any room!

He also presented a brand new collection of bathroom furniture and fittings for new division Bisazza Bagno. This debut collection proved hugely popular with it’s slick smooth lines and elegant finish.

Contemporary finishing with elegance!

Attention to detail on the fixtures and furniture!

The Pina weightless chair he designed for Magis, Italian furniture designers with it’s weaving and the natural wooden legs would suit any interior style.

The Pina chair is weightless and easy to blend in any room with little effort!

Presently Jamie continues to be the head consultant at the Spanish porcelain company Lladro and as a result of his designs he has been commissioned by retail companies, hotels, and restaurants all over the globe and famously has worked on the interior of the famous La Terraza del Casino restaurant in Madrid.

Amazing to believe this all started with a love of skateboard and graffiti culture, and also the accolades he has achieved so far in his 37 years. It’s obvious his passion is growing stronger with every new collection which is exciting for his followers and fellow designers awaiting his next creations.

Как сделать потеху чистки весны

Posted: 25 May 2011 12:00 PM PDT

Spring cleaning and fun are not two words that usually go together for most people. But this year can be different. Incorporating fun into the project is a great way to get results faster, better and with more satisfaction than before.

This year, when making those lists to finish certain cleaning tasks, consider a few options to make spring cleaning more enjoyable than years’ past. There are many things that you can do for yourself, or with others who may be helping you.

So roll up those sleeves and start the cleaning fun.

Rewarding yourself for completing spring cleaning tasks

Everyone likes rewards, and no one likes them better than after a lot of effort has been expended. Consider rewarding yourself for milestones in your big spring cleaning this year. They don’t have to be huge rewards. As a matter of fact, it’s better if the way you reward yourself is of the ‘simple pleasure’ variety, and shared with people you love.

Here are some self-rewards that make cleaning something to look forward to:

  • When the kitchen’s done, take your significant-other out and have a meal at your favourite restaurant
  • When the garden shed has been re-organized, take a trip with the family to a state park, or botanical garden
  • When the bedrooms are done, find a local B&B and book a night or two with your partner
  • When the recreation and entertainment area has been de-cluttered, pick a film and head to the movie theatre
  • When the kids have helped you by organizing their rooms, find a family friendly activity that everyone can enjoy; a park, a hiking trail, a museum, or children’s theatre event

There are all kinds of ways to make your spring clean into a means of drawing you closer together, while also feeling great about a transformed space that feels like the home you want all year round. And a little something to look forward to doesn’t hurt.

Spring clean housewarming party

Throw a spring-cleaned housewarming party. Instead of giving of your unwanted things to a charity, consider having a housewarming with a twist. Tell some of your closest friends that you are cleaning things out, save the best stuff, and then invite them over to go through what you have. Make it a big party by asking them to bring over some of their stuff that they want to get rid of, and have a swap. This could not only be a fun time, but lots of laughs will come from seeing some of the things your friends own.

Garage sale block party

Get ready to make some money by hosting a garage sale for all the things you need to get rid of. There is no reason why you can’t profit from your cleaning efforts. Keep everything in one spot until you are ready, then make the move, and put everything out for the neighbors to purchase. This is a great way to get to know your neighbors and for you to make a little money. And why not make it a street party while you’re at it, with pot luck dishes, barbeques, and music too.

Dance party cleaning

The last thing you want to think about while cleaning is a dance party. Parties are messy right? Well, change it up by challenging yourself to finish a quick task within the length of your favorite CD, or song. Make it an exercise routine and shake to the rhythm while you work. This is a great way to feel energized and motivated. When you are done, you can practice your new dance moves with a night out on the town with your sweetie. Again, when there is a fun plan to look forward to, the actual project to get you there can be exciting and fun.

Be Creative

Spring cleaning does not have to be boring or mundane, but it is up to you on how you are going to dress it up and make it fun. Get creative with ideas and think outside of the box, and this year’s spring cleaning will be one of the best times you have had.

So, how do you do add this subtle flair, and do it inexpensively?

The writers of Home Interior Zone are here with this guest post to tell you how you can accomplish some great home décor effects through the magic of upcycling. What is that, exactly?

Read on, gentle reader!

One of the most popular trends regarding home decoration in our days is upcycling. There are a lot of people who save items from going to the thrash and creating something entirely new with their help.

You might have seen artwork made of old CDs, or sofa cushions made of repurposed old sweaters. While some of the people have a special ability to find new use of old objects, the items created by the majority of the people look like they have been saved from the thrash themselves.

You must know that this isn't a general rule, and it is possible to make things turn out right. All you need is the right materials and also the ability to create something new. The finishing makes all the difference regarding the different kinds of items that you could create.

How to succeed with upcycling

The definition of upcycling is the process of converting something old and seemingly useless into something new and useful with a higher value.

In order to achieve the high quality products that you would like to have, you must start with high quality materials. The ones that you could use might need cleaning, repairing and updating. When looking for new items, keep an eye out for those that are sound and that would fit the design that you already have.

The tools that you use for an upcycling project are also important. They make the difference between the items that have been visibly slapped together and those that are well crafted. You could save yourself a lot of time and a lot of frustration if you choose the right tools for the right operation. For example in case of the sewing projects it is important to have a good sewing machine, while in case of working with wood it is a necessity to have a drill and also a set of bits.

Everything starts in the planning phase. Before you actually do something, lay out a plan that you will follow along the way. You should be certain about how the final product should look. Take each piece and decide what needs to be done with it according to your specific plan.

The first step usually is to clean the piece in question and repair it in case it needs any repairs. Regarding the metal pieces you should sand the rust, repair the loose joints and make any other necessary repairs. This is the most important step to have high quality work.

As it has been mentioned before, it is essential to take the time when it comes to the finishes. This way the items that you create will be a true piece of art. Don't let there be any unfinished work.

Why upcycling is important

The importance of upcycling lies in the fact that this way there will be less waste. Actually the advantage is double: you lower the trash and the carbon footprint and in the same time there will be less need for new materials saving you the cash you need elsewhere.

There are some really spectacular ideas that you could try at home. For example you might create a lamp of old soup cans. Another really good idea is to use plates that you don't really use anymore for eating as decorative elements. You should repaint them and hang them on the wall.

Old luggage could also find a new purpose if you are creative enough. There are some people who have turned the old travelling cases into chairs and even sofas. It is undeniable that it takes some work, but the results are worth the effort and you can be sure that you will have unique items.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of upscaling opportunities available to those daring enough to take advantage of their impressive potential.
